This CD-ROM for Windows™ (except 64-bit computers) contains the most up-to-date classification of plant communities for California. Based on Robert Holland's (1986) Preliminary descriptions of terrestrial natural communities of California, this nature based information system includes references and hypertext links to each community within the full text descriptions (which have been updated to The Jepson Manual nomenclature). Also included is the vegetation type/plant community classification from Philip Munz's A California Flora. Also included is the series classification from The Manual of California Vegetation. All classifications are linked to the others through the plant species. Descriptions of nearly 1,000 trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals include common name, plant type, elevation range, habitat. Includes over 750 images featuring 250 plant species and 200 plant communities.
